Lead Consultant – Design, Engineering and Superintendent Services - Ben Lomond Public Shelter Replacement

⁠⁠⁠The Parks and Wildlife Service Tasmania (PWS) is planning to advertise for a Lead Consultant with appropriate experience and qualifications to design the replacement of the Ben Lomond Public Shelter. The public shelter replacement represents Stage 1 of the site redevelopment and is the primary focus of the project. Stage 2 represents the long term planning for a multi-purpose structure attached to the public shelter (concept only). The scope of works for the proposed tender is summarised below:

• Site Plan including assessment of options and recommendation for preferred site for Stages 1 & 2.
• Concept Design for Stages 1 & 2.
• Detailed Design for construction for Stage 1.
• Development Application.
• Contract Development & Tendering for Stage 1.
• Contract Administration and Superintendent Services for Stage 1.
• Post Construction Services (Defects Liability Period) for Stage 1.

The successful respondent will assume the responsibility of the Lead Consultant. The Lead Consultant will be required to identify, engage and co-ordinate a full Consultant Team providing the necessary expertise to complete the works required.

The Consultant Team will be responsible for planning through all subsequent stages listed above, culminating in a comprehensive set of construction drawings and supporting specifications. This information will be sufficiently detailed to allow for accurate tendering, statutory approvals and construction. The Lead Consultant will undertake full contract administration services throughout the Construction and Defect Liability Periods for Stage 1 of the Ben Lomond Public Shelter replacement.

The Consultant must be prequalified with the Tasmanian Department of Treasury and Finance as an approved consultant for building construction and maintenance services for projects with value above $2 million at the time of tender close.
