Tender Description
Fraser Coast Regional Council (FCRC) undertook a runway assessment of its Hervey Bay Airport facility in November 2014, as part of its Airport masterplanning initiative. The investigation and report was compiled by GHD and presented to Council in December 2014.
Conclusions from the report indicated that the runway was approaching its useful life expectancy and deterioration was as per the predicted wear-rate. However, increased traffic from medium passenger jets could increase the rate or wear and decrease the predicted life span.
Council has elected to undertake a runway overlay to increase the useful life of the runway and taxiways with a 20-year horizon. Council is Tender submissions for the as-designed works that are specified in the tender documentation.
The project is to be delivered in four (4) separable portions:
SP1 – HML lighting to the RPT apron, conduit works and cabling
SP2 – Runway 11/29 overlay works, turning nodes, taxiway works, RPT apron upgrades, AGL upgrades other than SP1 works
SP3 – Avion Airside Development taxiway and interconnections
SP4 – General Aviation infills to aprons and taxiways (to be published as an Addendum to the Tender Monday 28th October 2019)
