The Victorian Government is investing $25.2 million over five years to recruit, train, support, and deepen the expertise of learning specialists for every Victorian government school. This includes $5.5 million over five years to build the capabilities of learning specialists through a suite of blended professional learning offerings.
Learning specialists are instructional leaders, focused on building the capabilities of teachers within their school to improve student learning outcomes.
This procurement is seeking to engage a Supplier for the design and delivery of a professional learning suite to build and deepen the capabilities of learning specialists in five key areas relevant to their role and responsibilities, as detailed in the Victorian Government Schools Agreement 2017 (VSGA 2017). The capability areas include:
- Modelling exemplary teaching practice and professional learning to demonstrate high-level expertise in teaching and learning practice.
- Leading from the middle to work with the school leadership team to implement whole-school improvement strategies and provide instructional leadership.
- Enriching data and evidence practices to model exemplary use of student data to support improvement cycles and inform teaching approaches.
- Professional observations to explore a variety of evidence-based approaches that will improve professional learning outcomes for teachers and leaders.
- Professional conversations to build a culture of open and effective communication to lead and engage colleagues
The services are required for an initial contract term of one year, with two one year options for extension (1+1+1 years).
