Kaiapoi Watermain Renewals

⁠⁠⁠This Contract is for the construction of watermains in Aldersgate Street, Hills Street and Williams Street (from the corner of Williams Street and Fuller Street to the corner of Williams Street and Courtenay Drive) in Kaiapoi.

The key skills required for this contract are the ability to install PE water mains within a live water system, on a main urban road, and involving the slip-lining construction technique, and to maintain temporary supply to residents during these works.

The main tasks involved in this Contract are:

• Separable Portion A (SP A): Supply and Installation of approximately 100m of 63mm OD PE watermain in Aldersgate Street
• Provisional Separable Portion B (SP B): Supply and Installation of approximately 390m of 125mm OD and 63mm OD PE watermain in Hills Street
• Provisional Separable Portion C (SP C): Supply and Installation of approximately 590m of 355mm OD, 180 OD PE and 63mm OD PE watermain at Williams Street Stage 1.
• Separable Portion D (SP D): Supply and Installation of approximately 430m of 250mm OD PE, 180mm OD PE watermain at Williams Street Stage 2

Supply and installation of fittings and transferring service connections to the new watermains.
Cap and abandon or demolish redundant watermains where required.
The removal and disposal of the existing asbestos cement pipe where required (estimated quantity equivalent to 9m2).
