Hort Innovation is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $13.2 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $110 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: Improving surveillance strategies for tospoviruses and thrips to enhance the biosecurity of the nursery industry (NY19007).
The objectives of the services being sought are to investigate and develop accurate surveillance tools and strategies for exotic virus detection to enable rapid response and reduce impact of thrips and tospoviruses in nursery production. The project will:
- Support the Australian production nursery industry developing nursery-specific R&D capacity
- Ensure that the Australian production nursery industry and stakeholders have scientifically valid information on which to base management decisions
- Enhance the biosecurity capability of the industry through provision of diagnostic technologies for early detection
