Tender Description
The Scargill Motunau Cricket pavilion sustained structural damage in the earthquake sequence related to the Kaikoura/Waiau earthquakes of 2016. This community building is owned by the Hurunui District council and is used by many groups including the cricket club, tennis club, bowls club and other community groups.
The nearby Scargill Hall was severely damaged in the same sequence of earthquakes and has subsequently been demolished. This means that the pavilion is the only gathering place for the community. To accommodate this need funding has been sought to enlarge and renovate the pavilion at the same time as strengthening it to 34% NBS.
The main tasks involved in this Contract are:
- Fix steel supports to walls
- Fix ceilings to walls
- Construct approximately 50 m3 extension to building
- Construct new entrance foyer
- Construct new deck area
