In accordance with Clause 166 of the Local Government Regulation 2005, Greater Hume Council is formally requesting prices from suitably qualified and experienced persons or companies for the following works.
The works scope generally covers 500m section of the Kywong- Howlong Road between Walbundrie and Brockles. Provisionally the construction of the earthworks may continue for a further 500m to allow for future works.
This road was originally constructed with sections on fill to bring it above the surrounding natural surfaces. This embankments was constructed with steep batter and with a width that is not suitable for modern standards.
The works includes the reconstruction of the road pavement , drainage and bulk earthworks.
Contractors should be aware that the works are located on a relatively busy road with a significant proportion of heavy vehicles. Appropriate works management and careful traffic control will be a significant requirement of this project.
