Expression of Interest – Commercialisation Accelerator Program for new innovations

⁠⁠⁠Objectives

In conjunction with an external partner (Potential Vendor), Western Power aims to trial run one potential innovation through an external accelerator program that would include:

• Supporting the idea owner through the process to develop a business plan;
• Understanding patent opportunities and complete protection requirements;
• Developing a robust revenue forecast model; and
• Determining the best structure for a new business as required.

Scope of Work

Western Power is looking for a Potential Vendor to provide a business startup accelerator program with which Western Power will trial one innovative idea. The accelerator program should deliver the objectives listed above as a minimum. The proposal (Response) should outline:

• Methodology underpinning the accelerator program;
• The individual services and organisational capabilities that will be provided;
• Timeline of milestones and deliverables from end to end;
• Materials/resourcing to be provided by Western Power;
• How the engagement will be managed in conjunction with Western Power;
• Outputs and outcomes that can be expected from the engagement;
• Options that may be available; and
• Costs to deliver one innovation from end to end.

EOI RESPONSE

The Potential Vendor is required to address the following in their Response in no more than 20 A4 pages:

Suitability of proposed services

• How the potential vendor proposes to deliver the Scope of Work;
• The proposed methodology and approach;
• Understanding of potential risks/critical issues and how to mitigate these;

Organisational capacity

• Brief organisation’s background;
• Proposed delivery timeframe to outcome;
• Resourcing capacity; and
• Key personnel (skills and experience).

Demonstrated experience

• Brief description of previous similar projects/contracts undertaken for other clients including project dates and outcomes; and
• Provide two (2) referee contact details, including name, phone number, email, project/contract title and project dates.

Pricing

The Potential Vendor is required to provide the following in their Response:

• Fixed price to trial one innovation idea; and
• Other proposed pricing methodology for future innovation ideas.

LODGEMENT CLOSING DATE AND TIME

Responses must be received by 12pm on Friday, 29th November 2019

• Western Power may, in its absolute discretion, elect to consider or reject a Response that is received after the Closing of Responses.
• Except with Western Power’s prior approval, a Response is to be delivered by email to kate.watkins@westernpower.com.au and must be provided as an attachment to the email (with the subject heading of the email being “EOI for WS2040426704 – Commercialisation Accelerator Program for new innovations”;
• Western Power may, in its absolute discretion, suspend or cancel this EOI at any time.
