Tender Description
The South Australian Government (the State) has commenced a program of reform for public transport and has decided to extend the private sector contracting model that has been in place for bus services to rail: both heavy rail (Train) and light rail (Tram) operations.
Tram operations will be contracted as part of an integrated bus – tram tender with transition to the new contracts by mid-2020.
The State Government will today release an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the operation of Adelaide Metro train services, to deliver better and more customer focussed services.
The EOI process will close on 26 November after which time a shortlist of applicants will be invited to bid for the tender which will be released in the first quarter of next year.
It is expected that Adelaide Metro train services will transfer to the new operator in early 2021.
