Tender Description
Box Hill Institute is intending to release an open/selective tender to construct an Integrated Centre for Sustainable Construction Technologies located at Lilydale. The Integrated Centre will provide education and training opportunities that target the core trades of carpentry, plumbing and electrical. It will focus on sustainability, future skill needs and employability skills in the areas of sustainable and green construction and the new energy technology sector.
The proposed Integrated Centre for Sustainable Construction Technologies will consist of the following:-
The Centre structure will be approximately 2,500sqm including:
- Workshop and classrooms – 2,200sqm
- Staff workspace – 96sqm
- Materials storage – 200sqm
- Amenities - 40sqm
The area surrounding the Centre will include:
- External (yard) storage
- Sealed driveway
The adaptable classroom layout, open areas between plumbing, electrical and carpentry and significant indoor and outdoor workspaces to enable both off-site and on-site construction activities are integral to the success of the model.
Project Address: 40-50 Melba Avenue, Lilydale
The single step Open Tender is expected to be released on the Buying for Victoria website at the end of November 2019.
Construction works are targeted to commence approximately in February 2020 and the Centre will be operational from the first semester of 2021.
The works must comply with Occupational Health, Safety and Environment, Industrial Relations Management and the Local Jobs First mandatory requirements.
