Tender Description
Phytophtora dieback has been mapped and treated on a regular basis within many reserves of the City of Melville. It requires regular mapping and ongoing treatment to help reduce the impact that it is having on our native flora
Quotations are being sought by the City of Melville for a suitably qualified and experienced contractor within the field of dieback management to undertake a program of dieback mapping, treatment and signage installation, to be undertaken between November 2019 and February 2020, with completion of mapping, treatment and signage installation no later than March 1st 2020.
treatment should ideally be done over summer when water uptake is high and when soil conditions are dry.
Applicants shall familiarise themselves with the City of Melville Natural Areas Asset Management Plan (NAAMP) and the City of Melville Disease and Pathogen Guidelines, a copy of which is available on request.
The applicant should be skilled in identification of disease fronts and expression, registered as a Dieback Interpreter with the Department of Parks and Wildlife; skilled in the use of chemical treatments; skilled in monitoring and be experienced within a bushland environment, and be able to install signage based on maps of dieback infestations (provided by the COM to the successful contractor).
