RFT Tidal Pool Renewal Project Little Manly Tidal Pool (2019/184) and Forty Baskets Tidal Pool (2019

⁠⁠⁠Northern Beaches Council (Council) invites tenders for the Tidal Pool Renewal Project.

As part of our Capital Works Program, Council is demolishing and reconstructing the Little Manly Tidal Pool at Manly and the Forty Baskets Tidal Pool at Balgowlah, Manly.

Council is seeking tenders from suitably qualified contractors to carry out the following outline scope of works at Little Manly Tidal Pool and Forty Baskets Tidal Pool:

• Preparation of documentation in readiness for the commencement of works, including Safe Works Method Statements (SWMS), Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP), Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) documentation and the like, including compliance with the existing Review of Environmental Factors (REF) document.
• Mobilisation and preparation of the site prior to commencement of works
• Demolition of the existing Little Manly Tidal Pool and Forty Baskets Tidal Pool and disposal of the materials.
• Installation of steel piles and installation of HDPE sleeves.
• Construction of timber walers / rails framing the respective tidal pool.
• The construction of a boardwalk at the Forty Baskets Tidal Pool.
• Painting / coating of members as specified.

The works are to be carried out strictly in accordance with the requirements in this document and in accordance with the REF, CEMP, SWMS, QA, QC documentation and other statutory permits to undertake the works.

To have tenders considered, contractors will need to ensure that all required information requested in the Request for Tender document is provided.

The anticipated time for award of the works and signing of the contract is December 2019, however the works can first commence around May 2020, to avoid potential impacts to the endangered species 'Whites seahorse' during its key breeding season. The tenderer must nominate the anticipated Date for Practical Completion in the tender; however please note the work must be completed by September 2020.

SITE BRIEFING:

A tender briefing site meeting will be held from 11:00am to 13:00pm on Wednesday 30 October 2019, commencing on site at 11:00am - 12:00 noon at Little Manly Tidal Pool (Stuart Street, Manly), followed by 12:15pm - 01:00pm site visit at Forty Baskets Tidal Pool, Gourlay Avenue, Balgowlah, Manly.

LODGEMENT:

Submissions should be lodged in the electronic tender box or in the physical tender box at Northern Beaches Council, Civic Centre, 725 Pittwater Road, Dee Why, NSW 2099 by the time and date nominated. Late submissions may not be accepted.
