Tender Description
The AAD has established the Traverse Capability Project to deliver an overland traverse and mobile inland station in Antarctica, to commence involvement in a major scientific research undertaking to retrieve a million-year old ice core.
The Project requires three soft shelters, capable of withstanding extremely low temperatures for extended periods in Antarctic conditions, to form part of the Inland Station Capability to allow ice core drilling, processing and maintenance to be conducted. These soft shelters are summarised as:
- Drilling tent.
- Core processing tent.
- Mobile machinery plant workshop.
