Dungog Shire Council is seeking suitably qualified consultants to prepare a Rural Lands Strategy for the Dungog Local Government Area.
The Rural Lands Strategy will be a critical strategic framework guiding the future use and sustainable management of rural lands within the Shire.
The Strategy will identify opportunities for agricultural diversification and enhanced contribution of tourism to the local economy as well as areas for rural residential growth. It will also make recommendations in regard to environmental conservation, vegetation and wildlife corridors.
The Strategy will be a foundation upon which a new Local Environmental Plan for the Shire can be developed.
