Northern Beaches Council RFQ 2019/243 Glen Street Theatre , Use of former restaurant space.
Northern Beaches Council is seeking a suitably qualified consultant to undertake a Feasibility Study and provide a Report outlining the most appropriate future use and operating model for the former restaurant space at Glen Street Theatre. Options to review and repurpose the space are to be based on outcomes from the community consultation held in June and July 2019.
The consultant is required to have specialist skills and knowledge in arts/cultural planning and be able to assess and measure the effectiveness of cultural facilities that include food and beverage services. Knowledge of performance spaces, cultural hub invigoration, connectivity to place and space, food and beverage premises and associated liquor licensing is required. In addition, experience working with local government is highly desirable.
A Benchmarking Report is required to identify other industry examples of cultural hubs and theatre space usage that achieve positive outcomes
The Feasibility Report will be required to provide a minimum of 3 options on: feasibility; operational; financial and economic opportunities for the redevelopment and operation of a proposed new activity/facility within Glen Street Theatre. The 3 options are to include an assessment of the current (intermittent) use of the space and a minimum of two other options.
