Business Analyst (Technical)

⁠⁠⁠The University is seeking an experienced business analyst (BA) with technical expertise to be part of the Future Student Experience Customer Relationship Management (CRM) project working within the Information Technology Services (ITS) Division. The project's current primary focus is on integrating the CRM with other ANU business systems via the Enterprise Service Bus (ESB).

The BA will lead a range of complex work associated with the design and specification of a new Operational Data Store (ODS) using Microsoft SQL Server technologies, that will integrated via Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes to the Data Warehouse for source data and have a range of Web Services (via ESB) developed over the top to expose ODS data to the Oracle CRM platform. This work will include, but not be limited to:

• Leading workshops and meetings with business stakeholders to accurately translate, agree and document CRM integration business requirements into detailed ODS technical requirements.
• Leading workshops and meetings with the ANU Data Warehouse team to identify, agree and document detailed ETL processes, with interfaces, data definitions, data mapping, security controls, error handling, etc., for populating daily data updates from the ANU Data Warehouse to the ODS.
• Leading workshops and meetings with technical stakeholders to identify, agree and document detailed ODS technical requirements, with interfaces, data definitions, data mapping, security controls, error handling, etc.
• Working with the ESB team to identify, agree and document detailed web service technical requirements, with interfaces, data definitions, data mapping, security controls, error handling, etc., for use with the ODS
• Working with the PeopleSoft team to identify, agree and document detailed Student Administration System (SAS) technical integration requirements, with interfaces, data definitions, data mapping, security controls, error handling, etc., for integration with the ODS
• Developing detailed technical documents, walking business and technical stakeholders through reviews of the documents and securing signoff of the documents from relevant business and technical stakeholders.
• Reviewing vendor detailed technical designs and specifications to ensure accuracy and alignment to ANU technical requirements and specifications.
• Developing test cases and leading the user acceptance testing with business stakeholder, system integration testing with technical stakeholders and defect management around the end-to-end ODS testing with ESB, integrated ANU business systems, including the Data Warehouse and SAS, and the Oracle CRM platform.
