Enterprise Level Antimicrobial Usage Measurement
Tender ID: 391765
Tender Details
Tender Description
Measurement of antimicrobial (specifically, antibiotic) usage is seen as an essential aspect of the national management of problems associated with antimicrobial resistance, providing evidence to support the optimization of the usage of antimicrobials. Stewardship programs emphasising the replacement or refinement of antibiotics and reduction due to the adoption of other measures also require review. Data should be available within the enterprise, but additional data that allows the enterprise to benchmark its performance against like enterprises, would enhance review of antibiotic usage. Usage data on a number of enterprises will provide verification of national usage data and help to explain how usage may vary according to different kinds of enterprises, regions of Australia etc.
The aim of this project will be to develop and demonstrate reliable, practical, and meaningful measurement systems for antibiotic use in different kinds of red meat enterprise (cattle, sheep, goats, in both extensive and intensive raising systems).
MLA invites interested parties to submit tenders by 5:00 PM on Friday 23 August 2019 (Closing Date), to investigate the development of industry level systems for measurement of antimicrobial usage
