This Tender is invited by the Issuer.
This role of Junior IT Generalist, resides within the IT Environment team in the Government Network Services Branch of Finance. This team manages and operates the server and network infrastructure that hosts the core services and line of business applications that fulfill the department’s output objectives.
The team is responsible for the efficient and reliable operation, management, and maintenance and monitoring of Finance's Core and WAN Cisco networks, VMware servers and Wintel environment. The role will be accountable for maintaining high standards of availability and compliance within an ITIL based service delivery framework.
Duties
1. Undertake administration, management and maintenance of the departments Microsoft Enterprise systems and servers and other Infrastructure services within Finance.
2. Under direction develop and update Infrastructure operations and configuration standards, procedures and designs.
3. Respond to Level 3 support requests, managing customer expectations within an operational level agreement
4. Work closely with project, development and other support teams to ensure performance, reliability, and technical compatibility, service level compliance and user satisfaction.
5. Develop and apply appropriate technical administrative practices and procedures to meet defined service levels, timeframes and budgets.
6. Create, maintain and update technical documentation specific to the Finance Infrastructure service and provide or co-ordinate skills transfer to other infrastructure support staff.
7. When necessary, perform other IT related tasks as directed.
8. Undertake configuration and automation tasks required to support and implement the Microsoft Enterprise services in Finance
