Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training Package - Latrobe Valley and Bass Coast

⁠⁠⁠Proposals are sought from suitably experienced organisations to coordinate and organise the Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training Package - Latrobe Valley and Bass Coast.

Gippsland PHN seeks to appoint an appropriately qualified and experienced organisation to coordinate and facilitate the delivery of the Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training Package; consisting of 3 components:
1. Identification and mapping of community gatekeepers.
2. Delivery of mental health education to community gatekeepers.
3. Train the Trainer Program.

The Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training Package aims to:
* increase mental health literacy through developing knowledge, changing attitudes and building confidence in dealing with suicidal individuals;
* teach community members and professional people skills to assess suicidal risk level, manage suicidal situations and refer to appropriate assistance and supports;
* build community capacity for local people to identify and respond to suicide.
Total indicative funding for this program is up to $140,000.00 (ex GST) to June 2020.
Applicant organisations may choose to form partnerships with other organisations to develop a successful model for delivery.
