Flood Damage Road Remediation - Win, Crush & Stockpile Gravel

⁠⁠⁠Cloncurry Shire Council is inviting tenders to carry out extensive flood damage repair to roads within the Shire. The work involved is predominately rehabilitating existing pavements using materials quarried from local borrow pits.

The Council's intent is that the work be carried out to a fit for purpose basis however there needs to be some controls in place to ensure an acceptable outcome.

This package is for winning, processing and stockpiling of borrow material at Pit Numbers DM40.8 (Duchess-Mount Isa Road @40.83), F48 (Malbon-Selwyn Road @54.61) and F70 (Toolebuc-McKinlay Road @25.96). For details on the pit locations, please refer to the Request for Tender document.

There is a requirement for quality testing of the borrow materials in stockpile in pit to confirm that the development of the pit and the winning of the materials has followed best practice. This testing will be undertaken by the Principal and will include grading and Atterberg tests of stockpiled lots. Surveys of the stockpiles will be completed by the Principal to ensure the correct quantities have been produced.
