PTV is the statutory authority for the provision, coordination and promotion of public transport within the state of Victoria. Trandev Melbourne operate parts of the metropolitan bus network on behalf of PTV.
The project is being funded by the Department of Treasury and Finance’s Greener Government Building Scheme which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from government owned buildings.
This project aims to reduce the energy consumption associated with use of lighting at Transdev operated bus depots by replacing current lighting with low energy replacements. The project also wishes to install solar PV panels to provide renewable energy for the building use. In order to do this PTV wishes to receive low energy lighting and solar installation proposals for the bus depots based upon current energy use.
There are currently six bus depots operated by Transdev Melbourne.
* Doncaster
* North Fitzroy
* Keysborough
* Sunshine West
* Heatherton
* Thomastown
This project is funded by PTV under the Greener Government Buildings scheme and will be split into two parts over two funding years.
In year one 2019/20 Doncaster, North Fitzroy and Keysborough are funded to be upgraded with the required low energy lighting, in addition the provision of solar equipment for North Fitzroy is also funded for 2019/20.
The remaining three depots Sunshine West, Heatherton and Thomastown will be delivered in 2020/2021 if funded by Greener Government Buildings and additionally solar equipment for Doncaster and Keysbrough.
