Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠The purpose of this contract is to provide Council the opportunity to utilise additional plant and trucks from 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2020. As can be identified the hire options may be either ‘wet’ or ‘dry’ hire, that is; either with an operator or without an operator. The option of wet or dry is not compulsory but merely an additional option.

An eligibility list shall be established from expressions of interest received and will be valid until 30 June 2020. This work may include, but not limited to:
* Haulage of general haulage works usually involving the movement of earth, road construction and maintenance materials and plant items
* Road construction and maintenance works
* Levee bank restoration works
* Trenching works involving pipe laying works (road culverts, stormwater, water works and/or sewer works)
* Flood/storm restoration works (washouts and slip stabilisation)
* Removal of trees and shrubs, and
* Other types of plant hire works.

An eligibility list shall be established from Expressions of Interest received and will be valid until 30 June 2020. The items of plant to be considered are:
* Trucks – haulage (articulated single carriage & multi carriage)
* Trucks – low loader
* Trucks – water cart
* Grader
* Backhoe
* Front-end loader
* Excavator
* Bulldozer
* Skid Steer
* Tractors – variable size

The owners of all vehicles to be used on Council’s worksite must, prior to the commencement of works, supply registration and where appropriate a Certificate of Currency for comprehensive insurance on all vehicles and staff insurances as per Council’s requirements.

All persons allocated to drive and/or operate any item of plant must, on demand, be able to produce their appropriately classed drivers’ licence and/or operators’ ticket or card signifying full authority to drive and/or operate. All persons engaged to carryout labour and/or tradesmen tasks must, on demand, be able to produce satisfactory licence/tickets signifying full authority to conduct tasks and must comply with Council WH&S.

A General Construction Induction white card is a minimum requirement by all persons engaged to conduct work for Warren Shire Council.

The Contractor shall be solely responsible for the execution and completion of the Contract and take all necessary precautions against theft and vandalism on the site of the works. Council will not be responsible for any damage sustained to contractor’s plant and equipment.

Please be advised that through the course of the budget year additional Quotations will be sort for gravel haulage on an as needed basis.

Expressions of Interest will close at 4:00 pm on Friday 24th May 2019 and will be opened immediately after closing time.

Late expressions of interest will not be accepted.

The lowest or any expression of interest will not necessarily be accepted. An expression of interest shall not be deemed to be accepted until written notice of such acceptance by Warren Shire Council is handed to the Contractor or is posted to him/her at the address appearing on the Expression of Interest.
