The National Sports Museum (NSM) opened in March 2008 and has become a leading and influential sports museum on the world stage and an increasingly significant player in Melbourne’s tourism market as partner brand to the very popular Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) stadium tour product.
The NSM is undertaking a structural and conceptual renewal that will transform the museum into a leading global museum, place it ahead of all challengers in the international sports museum market and ensure that it is on par with the very best heritage experiences within Australia.
Scheduled for completion by March 2020, the NSM Refresh project will create a museum that at least maintains (and ideally increases) annual visitation, provides a multitude of tangible education outcomes, genuinely engages visitors of all ages and all backgrounds, ‘pushes the envelope’ with its use of interactivity and genuinely reflects its ‘national’ title.
The refreshed NSM aims to maximise accessibility, engagement and participation. A variety of experiences will be offered to cater for the needs of a wide range of museum audiences, including, but not limited to:
*intergenerational family groups;
*young adults;
*older adults;
*interstate and international tourists; and
*school groups.
The MCC seeks to appoint a suitably qualified Graphic Production Consultant to carry out the below services:
*Production, supply and installation of all graphic instances (assets) as documented and specified in the appended documentation set / schedule (Annexure A) as prepared by the project nominated graphic design consultant, Nick Lewis Design;
*Site measure all graphic instances before production takes place;
*Production of finished artwork as nominated in the appended drawing set / schedule;
*Liaise with the Project Manager and Principal Building Contractor in the production and set-out of all built graphic instances and joinery elements;
*Provide material and colour samples for proofing and signoff by client and designer;
*Provide PDF proofs for approval before production of graphics;
*Delivery to site and Installation as required;
*Supply of fixings / adhesives / packers for installation as required;
*Any required cleaning of the substrate before the application of graphics;
*Waste removal off-site and clean-up of the area on the completion of works;
*All vertical and horizontal access equipment required to undertake installation onsite;
*Submission of WHS plans prior to the commencement of works on site, including completion of the MCC’s site induction requirements and adherence to any directions from the site supervisor.
*Any required overtime necessary to meet the project delivery deadline;
*Ensure all equipment, materials and finishes are installed to manufacturer’s specifications and recommendations.
