Supply and Construction - Pump Station

⁠⁠⁠The Water Security Infrastructure - Stage 1 Project for the Haughton Pipeline Duplication (HPDP) consists of a new raw water supply scheme with capacity to transfer 234 ML/day of raw water from the Upper Haughton Irrigation Channel (UHIC) to Toonpan Creek at the head of the Ross River Dam (RRD), to contribute to meeting the bulk water supply for Townsville.

The bulk water supply contribution is initially for drought resilience.

The Water Security Infrastructure - Stage 1 Project will provide extra capacity of 234 ML/day in addition to the existing capacity of the existing Haughton Pipeline being around 122 ML/day.

The main elements of The Water Security Infrastructure - Stage 1 Project are:

* Raw water pump station at the Upper Haughton Irrigation Channel

* Raw water delivery pipeline comprising of approximately 36.5km of DN1800 GRP pipeline.

* Outlet to Toonpan Creek at the head of Ross River Dam.
