The Authority
Who we are
The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (the Authority) is an independent statutory body primarily responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, serving both government and non-government schools. Part 2.5 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic.) sets out the powers and functions of the Authority.
What we do
The Authority provides high quality curriculum, assessment and reporting for all Victorian students in relation to their primary and secondary schooling by developing and implementing:
* The Victorian Early Learning and Development Framework 0–8 (VELDF 0–8)
* Foundation to Year 10 Curriculum (Victorian Curriculum F-10)
* National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy Testing (NAPLAN)
* Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE)
* Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL)
* Vocational Education and Training (VET)
