Tender Description
The Barcaldine gas-fired Power Station was built in 1995.
Nowadays, the 25-year old power station is used as a back-up power supply for Central West Queensland and during peak events in the summer months to supplement power to the grid.
Due to its age, a major overhaul is required. The Scope encompasses the performance of the overhaul, including dismounting the existing turbine and placing new parts. Parts are not part of the Scope for this Request for Tender.
The overhaul is scheduled for August 2019, for a period of 6 weeks.
Note:
The Barcaldine Power Station is owned by Ergon Retail. An agreement is in place between Ergon Retail and EECL, whereby EECL is responsible for the servicing and maintenance of the power station. This Request for Tender and its associated tender process is advertised and run by Energy Queensland for the purpose of establishing an agreement between EECL and the successful Tenderer for the provision of the Scope.
