Sanitary and Hygiene Services

⁠⁠⁠The City of Greater Geelong invites tenders from suitably qualified and experienced service providers for the provision of Sanitary and Hygiene Services for Council facilities.

The scope of work required under this contract is for the provision of Sanitary and Hygiene Services for the City of Greater Geelong. The service at the designated sites is inclusive of the supply of all labour, plant and equipment necessary for the provision of the sanitary and Hygiene services for City of Greater Geelong. All other associated costs including fuel, incidentals etc are to be included in the T1900029 Pricing Schedule. All activities undertaken as part of this Service are to be completed in accordance with all current industry regulations, standards and codes of practice.

Mandatory Criteria - Working with Children Checks
* The Service Provider must ensure that all of the relevant Service Providers directors, office –holders, employees, volunteers, servants and agents including sub - contractors involved in the subject matter of this Contract hold a valid working with children check as defined in the Working with Children Act 2005

* Must immediately notify Council if one of the relevant Service Providers directors, office-holders, employees, volunteers, servants and agents including subcontractors returns a negative notice or is reported under the reportable conduct scheme.

Mandatory Criteria - Other
* The tenderer must submit the proposed types of sanitary bins, nappy bins, air freshener and urinal deodoriser to be used. The tenderer must also submit information / details regarding manufacturer, model, size / capacity, bin access ie automatic access or manual access. These are to match the minimum requirements of the attached T1900029 Pricing Schedule but any value added benefits or innovation will be looked upon favourably.

The term of the Contract for the provision of this service shall be for a period of three (3) years with a further two, one (1) year options available at the discretion of Council.

Contractors are required to tender for all items in T900029 Pricing Schedule. The service shall commence on a date to be confirmed. The Contract shall operate on a fixed annual lump sum amount.

During the life of this contract the council reserves the rights to add additional sites to the contract at a rate based on the contracted pricing for equivalent lift services.

The frequency of servicing or change-over of bins is nominated in the attached T1900029 Pricing Schedule All bins, materials and replacement parts shall be provided new and suitable for the intended purpose.

Contractor will be required to attend meetings with the Superintendent or his representative on a monthly basis at the office nominated by the Superintendent or his representative. Contractor to provide one point of contact for this contract. They are to be available between the hours of 8.00am – 5.00pm by telephone.

Occupational Health & Safety
The work in the Sanitary and Hygiene Services Specification is considered high risk work. This is due to sanitary and nappy waste being stored in the bins and the disposal of that waste. There is a potential of working at heights for the deodorisers. The tenderer is to clearly state how the High Risk work is to be eliminated.

The tender evaluation panel will consider the details of the tenderer’s OH&S system provided in or in response to the on line Schedule provided (within OHS2 of the documents attached). Tenders which do not contain details of OH&S systems which meet the minimum required standards will not be considered for the contract.
