Burdekin Domestic and Family Violence Support Service (0180W)

⁠⁠⁠The department is investing in a new domestic and family violence support service to support people, including children and young people, in Burdekin. The service will deliver services in accordance with the following service types as outlined in the Domestic and Family Violence Investment Specification Version 3.0, 1 April 2018 –

1. Domestic Violence Counselling (T320);
2. Children’s Domestic Violence Counselling (T315); and
3. Court Based Services (T321).

Further requirements – 
* As part of the Domestic Violence Counselling service, submissions should include (and identify an amount) brokerage funding to be used to support the provision of security upgrades to the homes of people experiencing domestic and family violence to enable them to remain in their own homes where it’s safe to do so, as part of an individual safety plan.
* As part of Court Based Services, a worker from the service will be required to be present at the Ayr Magistrates Court to provide support to aggrieved persons on days domestic violence matters are heard. In addition, a separate worker of the service will provide information about court processes including the meaning of domestic violence orders to respondents and referral to other services.
