Tender Details
Tender Description
Wetlands construction is an approved Council project listed as Project No. 907 within the 4022 – Water Quality Improvements Program on Council’s 2018/19 Capital Works Program.
The project involves the construction of a wetland at Manson Reserve, Wantirna, located on the south side of Dandenong Creek. The wetland will filter stormwater flows before reaching Dandenong Creek and will provide biodiversity enhancements by creating habitats for indigenous flora and fauna.
The project will also contribute to landscape amenity, providing the opportunity to bring water back into the landscape and encouraging community connections by: creating spaces for people to visit and enjoy; providing broader health and wellbeing benefits within the region – effectively improving Knox’s liveability strengths.
Manson Reserve Wetlands is one of 12 project sites being delivered in partnership with Melbourne Water, Maroondah City Council and local community groups, as part of Melbourne Water’s - Enhancing Our Dandenong Creek initiative.
The suite of projects along the Dandenong Creek system includes a major undertaking by Melbourne Water to daylight a section of the creek, bringing it back to the surface as a natural waterway. Collectively, the projects seek to provide water quality, landscape amenity and ecological improvements to the waterway and its floodplain.
