Tender Description
The Department of Education (‘Department’) is seeking to replace its existing school server based Short Message Service (SMS) absence and notification system with a centrally managed, enterprise, cloud based solution over the next two (2) years, with potential four (4) six (6) month extension options. The solution supplied will be required to extract contact information and unexplained student absence data from the Department's approved school and student management management system. The automated messages may be sent via SMS or any other appropriate messaging approach.
The continued provision of messaging communications is important as it is a key strategy in the Department’s efforts to improve student attendance monitoring and early parent/carer notification. The use of messaging communication has also become a vital tool for schools to communicate a range of events, such as:
* emergency situations such as school closures due to storm damage;
* notification of cancellation of events, e.g. sports carnival due to poor weather; and
* general communication on important school activities.
