⁠⁠⁠BACKGROUND – Great Keppel Island Rejuvenation Project

The Department of Innovation, Tourism Industry Development and the Commonwealth Games (DITID) is leading the Great Keppel Island (GKI) Rejuvenation Project. The Project scope is to provide reliable and permanent power and water to Great Keppel Island, via a submarine infrastructure connection to the mainland. The infrastructure will support existing tourism operators, residents, and future tourism development projects.

DITID would like to invite relevant businesses to attend Industry Briefing Sessions on the Project in February in Rockhampton and Brisbane.

Relevant businesses include:
* Principal Contractors (ie Tier 1 and 2 contractors)
* Specialist marine and infrastructure contractors/subcontractors
* Construction subcontractors (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical)
* Construction materials suppliers (pipes, fittings, concrete, electrical etc)
* Environmental monitoring subcontractors/consultants
* Shipping and materials handling specialists
* Local and indigenous subcontractors working in the infrastructure/construction industry

INDUSTRY BRIEFING SESSIONS DETAILS

Industry briefing sessions will be held in Rockampton on 21st February and in Brisbane 28th February.

The briefing sessions will: 
* Provide an overview of the Great Keppel Island Rejuvenation Project;
* Explain the Procurement Strategy;
* Provide indicative timeframes; and
* Questions & answers session.

Attendance at these sessions is via registration only. Please note that only 2 attendees per company will be permitted.
