The Queensland Government through the Board of the Queensland Museum (QM) is seeking proposals for a Building Contractor to undertake the Roof Repair and Remediation Works at the Museum of Tropical Queensland (MTQ) Townsville.

QM has issued this Invitation to Offer (ITO) with the objective of engaging a suitably qualified Contractor with a minimum PQC (Pre-qualified Contractor) Level 2 to undertake the works with site possession anticipated Monday, 18 March 2019 (or date of acceptance of tender whichever is earlier) with practical completion no later than Friday, 28 June 2019 to achieve the project outcomes.

The scope of the Works generally comprise of (but not limited to):
* demolish existing roof sheeting, wall cladding materials, box gutters and associated fittings;
* remove and store solar panels (where necessary) and walkways to access roof;
* replace roof sheeting, wall cladding materials, box gutters and associated fittings in all roof areas (not replaced during recent new mechanical air-conditioning works in 2017); and
* reinstate solar panels and roof access walkways

As detailed in section 7 of the ITO – Specification & General Information document, a Mandatory Industry Briefing (MIB) and Site Inspection will take place on this Wednesday, 6 February 2019 at 1.00pm (sharp) at the Museum of Tropical Queensland, 70-102 Flinders Street, Townsville QLD 4810.
