Greencross Limited on behalf of its Retail business, Petbarn and City Farmers is seeking to establish long term partnerships with partner(s) who can provide the best overall distribution solution (warehousing and transportation) for our Chilled & Frozen pet foods. The specific objectives of the RFP are as follows:
- To achieve alignment between Greencross and its service providers in relation to current and future business requirements.
- Development of a flexible supply chain (sourcing and distribution) strategy to support growth and further network changes if required.
About our Chilled & Frozen Category
The Cat & Dog Chilled & Frozen Food portfolio is a focus category for Petbarn and City Farmers as it is currently in significant growth. Raw meat-based diets for pets has become a fast growing & popular trend amongst pet owners, who increasingly continue to “humanise” their pets and as a result, their expectations of quality are very high as they seek less processed options.
The Category Portfolio is broken down by Cat & Dog, Chilled & Frozen and primarily operate in Rolls, Mince, Bones & Biological Appropriate Raw Food (Barf). Given our expected growth in years to come, the category will continue to evolve as we tailor our offering to a very niche market.
