Incentive Fund 4 - Papua New Guinea - Provision of PV Solar Panels & Installation Materials

⁠⁠⁠You are invited to submit a tender for the provision of: Provision of PV Solar Panels & Ancillary Installation Equipment: Community Based Renewable Energy Telefomin, West Sepik Province, Papua New Guinea

Telefomin has a small hydro dam that provides intermittent power to the main township. The dam is filled by a small stream which, once full, water is released through a gate onto downhill turbines. The system only generates sufficient energy for a few hours at a time. Telefomin’s solar systems are not adequate to supply sufficient power to the town.

IF4 will be supporting the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade to undertake:

• Remedial work to restore operations of the hydropower system
• Installation of stand-alone solar systems for key services including the hospital, primary and secondary school, nurse training centre and the police station
• Community awareness and training in energy efficient and systems maintenance

and are conducting a procurement exercise for the provision of PV solar panels and installation equipment.
