Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠The Metropolitan Fire and Emergency Services Board (MFESB) is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) registered to deliver, assess and issue qualifications for a range of courses on its scope of registration in accordance with the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) and the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority Guidelines for Vocational Education and Training Providers or the relevant Standards for Registered Training Organisations in effect at the time of delivery and assessment.

The Metropolitan Fire and Emergency Services Board (MFB) operates as a statutory authority with responsibility to the Minister for Police and Emergency Services to provide a service throughout the metropolitan fire district. Its role is to protect life, property and the environment through effective fire prevention measures, fire safety education, fire fighting and rescue and disaster combating.

The Operational Learning & Development Department is part of the Operational Preparedness Directorate. The Operational Learning & Development Department is divided into 7 areas:
* Training Development
* Training Support Services
* Training Delivery
* Leadership Development
* Skills Maintenance
* Recruit Course Coordinator
* Planning and Governance

These areas work collaboratively to develop and deliver promotional and specialist training courses listed on the Metropolitan Fire and Emergency Services Board (MFB) scope of registration including non-accredited enterprise specific training.

The Metropolitan Fire Brigade promotional courses are developed against but not limited to units of competency from the Public Safety Training Package as per the Metropolitan Fire Brigade Emergency Response Training Framework. Successful completion of a course will result in participants being award nationally recognised qualifications as per the Framework. The number of participants enrolled in a single course will vary on operational requirements. This will be determined by the MFB.

The provider, in partnership with the MFB, will deliver and assess training aligned to the units assigned to three operational ranks; Station Officer, Senior Station Officer and Commander as part of a promotional course. The units identified for each rank may be subject to change due to amendments to the Public Safety Training Package, Fire Sector qualifications. The current units are listed below.
