Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Access and Referral System

⁠⁠⁠ HNECC is seeking proposals for the provision of a Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Access and Referral System to facilitate access to a range of HNECC funded mental health services that are delivered in a stepped care framework.

The system will support the intake and placement of clients with primary mental health care services according to their mental health needs and geographical location.

Following the evaluation process HNECC aims to partner with the successful respondent in development of the final model to be implemented July 2019.

The system will be scalable and can be implemented either across the entire HNECC region or at a sub-regional level (Hunter, New England, Central Coast) and will provide an access and referral management service providing patients and carers with a single point of entry to mental health and suicide prevention services as well as facilitating better patient navigation across the health system.

The provision of a mental health and suicide prevention access and referral system will require:
* A robust information management system
* Infrastructure that facilitates referral in line with a stepped care approach
* Strong clinical governance processes
* Detailed understanding of the local mental health service network
* Access to suitability qualified and experienced mental health clinicians to appropriately facilitate referrals.
