Tender Description

The proposed development involves demolition of the existing kiosk, amenities block and lion back of house; improved
access and carparking arrangements;construction of an Outback Overlooking Café building and associated African waterplay area in and infrastructure works for the midway precinct at TWPZ. The subject site is currently improved with the kiosk; amenities; internal tracks and viewing areas landscaping and services.

The proposed redevelopment of the midway precinct is architecturally designed and includes the following features:

  • The Outback café, comprising of an entry deck; open and closed dining areas; cabin and water hole decks; central courtyard;restrooms, kitchen, servery & back of house. The deck areas are to be set at levels and orientated to capture views over adjacent exhibits;
  • The Outback café shall be accessible and constructed of various materials.
  • A water play and wet change area;
  • Sunken exhibit with landscaped roof;
  • Extension of pathways to café;
  • Service connections and pump facilities;
  • Sewer run along existing tracks to TWPZ pump station;
  • Parking and manoeuvring areas;
  • Picnic areas;* Landscaped gardens;
