Tender Description

This project involves the complete strip out of existing storage room, male and female amenities, including, but not limited to, internal walls, doors, partitions, sanitary fixtures and hardware, mechanical, electrical and hydraulic services terminated/capped, ceilings, architraves and the like. Please refer to demolition drawings A021, A022 and A023 for further details.

After stripping out the existing amenities, reconfigure sewer, power and water to suit the new amenities layout proposed on drawing A201 and fit-off new sanitary fixtures and fittings as specified in the Product and Materials Schedule. The area of the existing male toilet will be added to the existing Cleansing Staff Room to create one larger room with lunch facilities. Refer to drawing A703 for works to the Cleansing Staff Room.

Please note that during the currency of the works the Car Park will remain occupied and in use. The works are to be carried out in two stages. Stage 1 involves all of the works on the north side of the car park and the demolition /construction of new accessible and unisex facilities. Stage 2 involves the works to the Cleansing Staff Room. Refer to drawing A101 for further details.

It is also a requirement to plan the shutdown of any utility services (power and water), and give the Superintendent at least 72 hours’ notice of any shutdowns. The Contractor shall provide the dates and durations of any planned shutdown of utilities on their programme. Given that the Car Park is in use, the Car Park Operators may require the Contractor to change the date/time of any utility shutdowns to fall outside peak periods of use or after hours. It is expected that these activities are planned and negotiated early with the Car Park Operators. No Variation or Extension of Time Claim will be entertained, whatsoever, if the Car Park requires the Contractor to change the date/time of any utility shutdown.

The Contractor must also provide suitable dust protection measures and hoardings as required to prevent dust migration into other parts of the car park and unauthorized access by the public. The Contractor shall confirm how they intend to achieve such protection measures as part of their tender submission.
