Tender Description
Department of Defence is undertaking a request for Industry Consultation in relation to the Future Maritime Sustainment Model (FMSM) Project. Specifically, this Industry Consultation seeks industry’s input as to:
- whether the current model used by the Maritime Systems Division (MSD) of the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) to sustain naval maritime capability is optimal;
- if not, what alternative models are available and which one is optimal, in particular in light of unprecedented future Naval initiatives and capabilities (e.g. Continuous Naval Shipbuilding); and
- what opportunities are there to innovate in developing and potentially adopting a new maritime sustainment model.
Note: Respondents to this request are presumed to have a sufficient level of understanding of maritime sustainment in Australia and best practices globally to provide a response that meets the objectives of this request.
As part of the the Future Maritime Sustainment Model - Request for Industry Consultation (RFI_8069_NAVY_FMSM) published to AusTender on 9 OCT 2018, an FMSM Industry Workshop was held between Defence and selective Industry representatives.
