Tender Description
The City of Cockburn (the Principal) is seeking the services of a suitably qualified and experienced Project Management Consultancy Company to undertake Project Management Services for the redevelopment of the Wetlands Precinct located in Bibra Lake Reserve, Western Australia.
The project is to develop an integrated environmental community hub to meet the needs of the current and growing local and regional communities. The estimated cost of this integrated facility (including demolition, construction, associated works, consultant’s fees, contingencies and other associated costs with the development) has been set at $5.8m (GST exclusive).
The project will deliver the following key components:
1.The Wetlands Centre, Cockburn Building
Retain, renovate and extend the building to enable additional workshop space, permanent education space/wet lab workshop, dedicated scouts room, multi-use space with scouts
2. Native Animal Rehabilitation Centre Building
Demolish and rebuild Native Animal Rehabilitation Centre including administration/reception area, meeting room, volunteer room/kitchen/toilets, hospital including examination and treatment rooms, X-ray room, rehabilitation intensive care room/theatre, isolation/ quarantine area, pharmacy/vet space, seonda stage rehabilaition space, food preparation/ wash room, cool room and storage area, education classroom, plus pre-release enclosures, permanent education and rehabilitation enclosures.
3. Scout Shed
Dismantle and reconstruct scout shed at a new location within the precinct development area
4. Native Plant Nursey & Artificial Wetland
Development of a state of the art community plant nursery that exceeds industry standards with construction of an artificial wetland for all year round education sessions and outdoor classrooms
5. Carpark & Pedestrian Management
Construction of a new carpark to accommodate the facilities demands and ensures safe and secure pedestrian access throughout the site.
6. Landscaping
Provision of landscaping in keeping with the natural surrounds of environment that includes pathways, garden areas, grass, seating, BBQ facilities and outdoor classroom spaces. Tree protection, transplants and / or removal may be required.
The proposed Contract shall be in place for a period of three (3) years from the date of award; with Principal instigated options to extend the period for a subsequent one (1) year period and up to up to twelve (12) months after that, to a maximum of five (5) years. This Contract is expected to commence early to late October 2018
It is the Principal’s expectation that practical completion will be achieved no later than June 2021.
