ICT Strategic Planning

⁠⁠⁠IP Australia is seeking to engage a specialist that can provide strategic planning and assist in alignment of IP Australia's ICT 2020 Strategy, Roadmaps and partnering with us to drive the vision and transformation over the term of the contract (potentially two years.)

IP Australia administers Intellectual Property rights and legislation relating to patents, trade marks, designs and plant breeder's rights. IP Australia delivers a world leading IP system. IP Australia is a digital office with innovation at the core of our services. In 2018 a major ICT restructure and refresh was undertaken. The Innovation Technology Group was formed and a new CIO appointed. This group brought together line of business IT and central IT with the aim of reducing waste, aligning IT delivery to customer outcomes and delivering value for the organisation.

We are seeking to engage a provider with proven capability to assist in planning and ICT strategy, backed by a strong capability in ICT delivery and implementation. IP Australia is at the leading edge in several fields in ICT and requires a provider that can continue to drive our innovation and help align our other technology areas . The important dates that need to be considered are:

Sep '18 Procurement process to identify a ICT Strategy supplier
Sep '18 Commencement of the ICT 2020 gap analysis & refresh
Oct ’18 Delivery of Implementations/ICT Roadmap
Nov ‘18 Ongoing ICT strategy alignment and monitoring

In 2017 the ICT Strategy was released, this outlined a roadmap for Information Technology investment and delivery through to 2020. The ICT Strategy was endorsed by the IP Australia Executive and investment funding allocated to deliver major programs targeted at implementing this strategy.

We are looking to partner with a provider to help with strategic planning, assess gaps in our current thinking and help formulate and drive our vision and transformation.
