Provision of Microscopes for the Biomedical Learning and Teaching Building at Monash University

⁠⁠⁠Monash University is building a state-of-the-art Biomedical Learning and Teaching Building that will open for Semester 1 2019.

This building will replace a number of existing outdated laboratory spaces, and bring together a number disciplines and Departments including Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Anatomy, Developmental Biology and Physiology.

The School of Biomedical Sciences (SOBS) intends to purchase a platform of network-capable microscopes with integrated cameras for use in undergraduate teaching programs commencing in Semester 1 of 2019.

The new microscopes will be installed at the new Biomedical Learning and Teaching Building (BLTB) by end of December 2018 to support state-of-the-art research-led teaching activities across multiple disciplines.

Operating under a unified teaching software, the microscopes will give teachers the capability to conduct image sharing across a class of students, as well as capture image via network to student portable devices, USB, or SD card for analysis.
