Interest Free Loans for Solar and Storage Scheme: Inspection Regime

⁠⁠⁠Interest Free Loans for Solar and Storage (IFLSS) scheme is a Queensland Government initiative which offers financial assistance for eligible customers to install solar systems, combined solar and battery systems, or battery systems.

The scheme objectives include assisting households and small businesses who do not have access to the upfront capital required to purchase solar and/or battery storage systems, and to establish and grow the Queensland battery energy storage industry.

Battery energy storage technology is emerging in Queensland and Australia, with safety and installation standards still evolving. As safety and installation standards are either new or still under development the scheme includes an inspection regime to audit the installations of batteries under the scheme against current requirements for safety and best practice installation.

This tender is for the engagement of an experienced and qualified Service Provider to inspect solar PV and battery installations for safety and best practice. The inspection regime will audit installations of solar PV and battery systems by Suppliers that have been prequalified by the Queensland Government through a Standing Offer Arrangement.

The Service Provider operating the inspection regime will be required to work with suppliers to ensure the safety and quality of installations, as well as educate suppliers on identified issues relating to industry best practice, safety risks and emerging risks throughout the inspection regime.
