Tender Description
The Myrtleford Wastewater Treatment Plant located approximately 3 km north-west of the township, on the Great Alpine Road, treats wastewater from the town along with some trade waste from nearby wineries before discharging into the Ovens River.
The planned plant upgrade is to ensure ongoing compliance with North East Water EPA license conditions.
* The treatment process is to be augmented by construction of “Wetlands”, Chemically Assisted Settling lagoons and a Sludge Drying/Storage area.
* Operational control and reliability is to be improved by replacement of aging electrical infrastructure combined with the introduction of additional instrumentation.
With civil and electrical components, the work has two facets from very different engineering disciplines. North East Water is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced contractor with the project management skills and systems to act as a Principal Contractor to deliver the works using their own resources or through management of suitably qualified sub-contractors as required.
The construction works will also need to be managed to allowed continual receival of wastewater for the duration of the project.
The expectation is that the works will be complete by 30 March, 2019.
