The City of Kingston is seeking tenders from suitably qualified contractors for the construction of a vibrant new public piazza which will provide a central point for the community to relax, gather and enjoy the village atmosphere Mentone is famous for. The works also include beautification of the adjacent Mentone Parade streetscape to compliment the construction of the new piazza. These Stage 2 works form part of the broader ‘Mentone Renaissance’ project which has already seen intersection improvements at Davies Street / Balcombe Road and aims to revitalise the Mentone retail centre.

The scope of works for this contract include but are not limited to the following:
• Concrete and bluestone pavers in pedestrian areas
• Concrete kerb & road pavement construction
• Stormwater drainage & Irrigation System
• Precast concrete seats
• Landscaping & bespoke street furniture
• Public Lighting & associated electrical works

It is Council’s intention to award the contract by the 31st October 2018.
Refer to the specification for delivery requirements with the intent that works commence as earlier as possible from the 14th January 2019, and by the 25th February 2019 at the latest.

Tenderers are advised to refer to the important information included within section 1 of the specification which includes:
• The extents of work under Part A & Part B of this contract;
• The dates for commencing works and achieving Practical Completion;
• The date for the Principal to make a decision of whether the contract is extended to include Part B; and
• Guidance on to the programming of works.
