The Department of Housing and Public Works (DHPW) is seeking Submissions for this Expression of Interest for the Solar on Public Housing - Metropolitan Trial (Logan).

The Solar on Public Housing Trial is part of the Queensland Government’s commitment to "Million Solar Rooftops/3000 Megawatts by 2020". The trial is being undertaken across a number of locations in Queensland including this Metropolitan Trial in Logan.

The State aims to procure an innovative solar housing solution, for State-owned and managed social housing in the Logan region. The Metropolitan Trial will involve the successful tenderer installing solar PV systems on the rooftops of approximately up to 3,000 dwellings.

The Solar on Public Housing Trial seeks to investigate delivering:
* Reduced cost of living for public housing tenants through reductions in their electricity costs;
* Proof of business models involving innovative commercial and legal arrangements, to give public housing tenants access to solar energy;
* Technical innovation and scalability to allow more Queenslanders to access solar energy; and
* Commercial opportunities for the market to provide solar energy to public housing tenants.

This EOI represents the first of a two-stage process to seek Submissions from Respondents who have the experience, capacity, capability to meet the specifications set out in this EOI, and have the interest in participating in this Metropolitan Trial. The Respondents shortlisted at the conclusion of this EOI process, may be invited to participate in a more detailed stage-two selection process (the Request for Tender Stage) where the department will evaluate tenders against more detailed requirements to deliver the Metropolitan Trial.
