Employment Facilitator Services for the Gippsland Region

⁠⁠⁠The Department of Jobs and Small Business is seeking an Employment Facilitator to provide a local, full-time, individual person point of contact and, in collaboration with employment service providers, work directly with workers to connect them with training and job opportunities and link them with existing support. The Employment Facilitator will also be connecting unemployed job seekers with employers and employment service providers.

The Employment Facilitator is to be based in the Gippsland region to provide a local point of contact. The Employment Facilitator role is not expected to deliver the same or similar services as jobactive, but to work in conjunction with employment service providers in the region and other relevant parties, including employers, to connect retrenched workers and other jobseekers with job outcomes.

The Employment Facilitator will also be required to support the delivery of the Regional Employment Trials Program from 1 October 2018. The Facilitator will be responsible for ensuring the trial meets program objectives in the nominated region. This will involve the Employment Facilitator working with local stakeholders to improve and leverage local employment opportunities for the unemployed.

In delivering the program the Employment Facilitator will be required to be an advisor on employment matters to the region’s RDA committee to identify, promote and review opportunities for funding under Local Employment Initiative Fund. The Employment Facilitator will be responsible for overseeing the establishment and delivery of any funded projects.

The Facilitator will also act as a liaison with the wider community to connect jobseekers with employment and training programs, including jobactive, and to work with employers to improve participation in government funded programs.

The Employment Facilitator may also be required to assist in the delivery of future initiatives such as structural adjustment programs, and to work directly with different groups of workers to connect them with existing support.
