Tender Description
One of Council’s core responsibilities is the maintenance of the sealed road network across the Sunshine Coast region. Roads for resealing, rehabilitation and works, are selected annually using a maintenance management system. This system determines the sections of roads and associated works within the network that will need to be maintained or upgraded, in order to achieve or extend the working life of the asset, or to provide an increased level of service.
Tenders are invited for the reseal, rehabilitation and construction of sections of road, as part of Council’s road maintenance and construction programs.
The contract comprises the following Separable Portions:
A. Bitumen Sealing Works:
* Chip Seal;
* Bitumen spray sealing of existing surfaces;
* Bitumen spray sealing of new pavements; and
* Bitumen sealing of new and existing construction works.
B. Access Chamber, Valve and Hydrant Raising:
* Access chamber, valve and hydrant (service access points) raising works.
Access chamber, valve and hydrant raising works are ordered as required. Approximately 100 and 200 service access points raised each year in conjunction with the schedule.
C. Supply Only of Asphalt and Bitumen Ex Bin.
It is anticipated these works will commence July 2018, with 70% of asphalt works, and 80% of sprayed seal works completed by the end of December 2018. It is Council’s intention to have the reseal and rehabilitation component of this contract completed as a priority, with total completion by the end of May 2019.
