Tender Details
Tender Description
Ports North is responsible for the development and management of port facilities vital to the development of Cairns and regional centres in Far North Queensland. The Corporation has extensive property, marina, tourism and cargo facilities in Cairns and its regional ports.
The Port of Mourilyan is a trading port under Ports North ownership and management. The Mourilyan Main Wharf is used primarily for the export of sugar, molasses and magnetite.
The wharf consisits of a reinforced concrete deck structure supported on approximately 390 square reinforced concrete piles. Approximately 50 of these piles require repairs to cracks and drummy concrete. The repair scope includes inspection, hydrodemolition and concrete reinstatement to approximately 10-20% of the 460mmx460mm cross sectional area over a 1.5m height of pile which extends into the tidal zone.
The wharf is an operational facility. Safety, methodology and programming will be critical to the successful delivery of the project. The works will require provision of appropriate access and environmental controls for works in the tidal zone.
Ports North invites tenders from suitably qualified and available Contractors, with appropriate experience in high quality concrete rehabilitation in the marine environment for the delivery of this project.
