The Queensland Government - Economic Development Queensland is seeking Expressions of Interest for the Bohle Plains Environmental Offsetting.

Background
Economic Development Queensland (EDQ), under the Department of State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning (DSDMIP) has recently purchased 800ha at Bohle Plains in Townsville, being Lot 102 on SP295409.

The land is strategically located on the Townsville Ring Road. Early master-planning indicates that the site could yield up to 400 hectares of land or 500 lots that can support future industrial development. It is recognised that this site is not required to be brought online for industry development for an estimated 20 (plus) years, however EDQ’s current interest is preservation of this opportunity and a possible interim renewable energy project land use.

The Bohle Palins Precinct is known Black Throated Finch habitat and as such, any development will require referral to the Department of Environment as a controlled action.

EDQ is seeking the services of a Queensland Government Pre-qualified firm with a proven experience in providing planning and environmental advice to Local, State and Federal government bodies.
